Can anyone tell me any thing about this family????
I have totaly different informatin about them....
I have James A Matthews born 4 19 1800 SC died in Carrollton,MS and is
buried in the Colia Cem. I have seen his grave stone....
He married Abagail Reynolds 1 16 1822 in Carrollton,MS and had as a
daughter Nancy Victoria She is listed along with her 13 brothers and
sisters


They are obviously the same but there sure is a lot of strange
information. Supposedly, James & Abagail married in Attala Co, 1822
but they list an unknown son, John Anderson Matthews born 1820 in
Hanover Co, VA and another unknown Dtr, Frances Matthews born 1825
the same as Nancy V. It only lists the 3 children.




James Byers Matthews born 4-19-1800 on the ocean, Newfoundland,
Canada, married unknown on 01-16-1822 in Attala Co, MS.
He died 05-10-1878 in Hanover, Florence, Wash, Penna (whatever
that is?) and buried at Coila Cem, Carroll Co, MS.
Son of Pleasant Matthews (b abt 1770 Hanover, VA) and Barbara Byers
(b abt 1775 Hanover, VA) It lists 11 of their children.

James' dtr, Nancy V. Matthews, married Bailey Lovin Guess
(03-18-1821 in Copiah Co, MS) on 06-06-1844 in Carroll Co, MS.
Bailey died 04-12-1864 and buried at Guess Cem, Possumneck Comm,
Attala Co, MS. HIs parents were Zedibiah Ball Guess and
Annis Loving.
Nancy V. Matthews Guess died 12-25-1895 near Temple,
Bell Co, TX, buried at Little Flock Cem, Bell Co, TX. It lists
their 9 children.
