Thanks for putting this information on line! I, too, am a Central Texas
Matthews who grew up in West Texas! My Matthews family as far back as I
have been able to find is that Cornelius Matthews came to Williamson County,
Tennessee with the Mark Andrews family and that his father and grandfather
was probably also named Cornelius. My personal branch came to Texas around
the mid 1840's. Will gladly share further information with other
researchers.

Subject: [MATTHEWS] Matthews Bibles

Hi~~my name is Jean S, and I'm new to this list. Yesterday I went to an
estate sale and found TWO Bibles with Matthews info.
One has the family history, and the other has the Service Record of two
Matthews men~~~
I'll give these to whoever wants them~~just pay the postage.
I looked sooo hard, and couldn't find any of my Fox/Nichols bunch!!!
Oh well, anyone?
If you'll email me, I'll give you all of the names mentioned in it~~
Happy huntin'~~~~~~~~~Jean
