Unless I've missed an email you have not posted who is in the bible. So far
there have been 23 posts in 3 days with people practically begging you to
tell the list. People with Mathews ancestors from New York, Tennessee,
North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, England, Virginia, Illinois, Iowa, Oregon,
Washington, Texas, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Louisiana have asked
about this bible. That's 14 states and one country. I can guarantee that
whoever is in this top-secret bible ain't from all those states!
We all appreciate you making the offer of the bible, but please understand
that many people have asked for the info and at least if you post it then it
will be saved for posterity in the rootsweb mailing list archives.
What the people on this list need to know is:
1) WHO are the progenitors of the family in the bible??? Give these people
who are asking at least a couple of the oldest names in it.
2) WHAT other surnames are in the bible??? Give us some way of tying this
mysterious family to other folks so we know better who they are.
3) WHEN was the bible record started??? Give some dates on the people in
there.
4) WHERE did this family come from??? Ok, Texas is listed. Is that the
only state mentioned???
Until some of this data is known deciding who it should go to is extremely
premature and a just a tad bit unfair to someone who might actually be a
descendant of the people in the bible.
In your first post you said you would tell who was in it if people emailed
you. At this point I think enough people have asked that you should go
ahead and post it to everyone. That way we could get the posts on this
topic to slow down a bit.
