Jean,
Hi, My name is Barbara Matthews,
First off.... ARRGGGG... I've read twenty of these posts already and I
wish she would post just one name to go on.... I have about thirty left to
read so she might have by now, but I saw your post and was woundering....
My Matthews family is also from TX. Up in the Panhandle arould Gray and
Wheeler County and also Washington County.. they are all over TX to tell
you the truth, but started out in those Counties.. My Great-Grandfarther
was William Davidson Matthews, who was the son of the Rev. William Charles
Matthews. I KNOW that W.D. Matthews came to TX from Alabama, Mississippi..
and that a brother and several sisters of W.C. Matthews came also... I
have quite a bit of history on them.. very little on Rev. W.C. Matthews.
The Rev. Jacob Matthews being one of the brothers who came here... His
family is from Chapel Hill, Washington County, TX. would you know any of
these names?
