Subject: [MAWORCES] 1870 census for Webster, MA

Thanks to everyone who helped me locate a Thomas and James Gray in the
1850 census. It's not them. I guess I am stuck between a rock and a
hard place. I know James and Thomas were born in Troy, NY in 1842 and
1848. They are not found in the Troy census in 1850. I don't have enough
info about their father William to go by the 1840 census. It only lists
head of household and all I know is his name and born in Ireland. So
that is out.

I found Thomas in Webster, MA in 1874 married to Fannie Maria Brooks.
When asked where his home is, he listed Webster, and that he is a shoemaker.
All 5 of his children were born there as well. This is how I came to
see if somehow James and Thomas ended up in MA (Webster) soon after Thomas'
birth in 1848.

If anyone has access to the 1870 census in Worcester County-Yes, this
time Webster! (4 years prior to Thomas' marriage)

I hope to find Thomas there.

I know I won't find James because he joined the civil war in 1861 and
enlisted in New York. (This just makes things more confusing!)

If anyone has an suggestions, I would appreciate it. I feel I am going
in so many directions, but don't know where to look anymore.

Thanks again to everyone!

Patti (Gray) Smith
Orlando, Fl.
