I saw the post on the Kennedy family in Blackstone Valley. Here is what I've
got on catholic Kennedy marriages to 1849 or so.
Michael D????? (sorry I can't make that out.) to Mary Kennedy on 1/26/1848
probably by Father Gibson.
Patrick Clifford to Catherine Kennedy 6/22/1848 probably by Father Boyce.
John Kennedy to Ellen McCarty 11/22/1848 probably by Rev Gibson. That was a
busy time for the priest, two marriages performed on the 19th, one on the
21st, two on the 22nd, 24th and 26th. on of the marriages was probably a
French Canadian My guess would be he was "on the road".
Patrick Kennedy to Mary Byrnes on 2/20/1849 probably by Gibson. This was one
of five marriages he performed that day, including Richard Byrnes to Mary
Kennedy and one French couple. Three marriages on the 18th, two on the 19th.
Again this cluster may be due to his monthly or even occational visits to an
area. Note: Not another marriage performed untill three of them on 4/8/1849.
After Lent. Its like that every year, few to no marriages performed during
Lent. Sometimes with a "rush" before and/or after.
Patrick Kennedy to Mary Burke 5/9/1849. (the only one that day, but four on
the 8th)
