My g-g-grandfather and at least five of his children immigrated from
County Tipperary Ireland in the early 1860's and settled in the
Webster-Dudley area until about 1901. There is pretty consistent
evidence of them in the vital records - death (1863), marriage (1865),
birth (1867), birth (1872), death (1873), death (1874), birth (1874),
death (1876), death (1882), death (1886), marriage (1895), birth (1896),
birth (1897), birth (1899), birth (1900) - yet, I have been unable to
find any of them (except the one daughter's family) in census records
prior to 1900.

However, thanks to Marilyn, I decided to look in neighboring Windham
County, and found two of the brothers in 1870 in a town named Putnam. I
find myself wondering why all the vital records would be in
Webster-Dudley when they lived in Putnam? Could it be that the nearest
Catholic Church was in Webster? Would anyone know if that might have
been the case?

Any ideas would be welcome! Thanks in advance! Patty
