I'm fairly new to this list. I recently found a letter from:

Hattie A Lyon (possibly Lyman it's hard to tell)
10 Gardner
Worcester, Mass
dtd Sep 22, 1914

addressed to my great great uncle:

Chas R Hall
1022 Castro St
San Francisco, CA

This is such a mystery because up until now there is only 1 Hattie Hall in the family from Maine. I've checked the Worcester census and also the Maine census with no luck as yet. Also the SF census and directories. Who is this woman and is she related?? Was she visiting in Worcester? Or did she live there? All of my great grandfathers family were born in Maine. Many of them were master mariners, several of whom came to San Francisco and stayed. I've haven't located the whereabouts of all of them. The last known residence was in Camden, Maine about 1890.

If anyone can help solve the mystery, it would be a big help. Thanks very much.
