Could somebody please tell me which township Whitinsville is in? Its
proximity to whatever other major villages or cities might be nearby
might help, also any other geographical features affecting settlement,
occupations, etc.
Recently in some heirship papers for Moses VIAU/VIOU, which we found in
Malone, Franklin Co. NY, a brother, Jed VIAU/VIOU, had moved to
Whitinsville MA., ca. 1860's, and he was still there in 1883. All of
Moses' siblings were probably born in St. Rémi [now Napierville Co.],
Québec, but by 1869 most were still Canadian citizens. Don't know Jed's
real name, Ludger?/Gideon?/Jedidiah?, age, or occupation.
Any suggestions about where I might search next would be most welcome.
Thank you,
'Barb Glassel
