Hello everyone.

Just a quick tid-bit of information:
(reference below)
Mr. Flynn passed away a few years ago. Subsequently,
then Governor Cellucci appointed a personal friend of
mine as new Register of Probate.

Peter Lukes, Esq.

Peter has undertaken a major computerization of all
records. Many of Massachusetts districts (ie former
county probate offices) have inquired and are trying
to emulate what Peter has started. In any event, the
future holds bright for geneaologists and any other
citizen in obtaining information.

thanx for your time

Gary

Copies of many original wills, guardianships, and
administrations
in Worcester County can be obtained by writing to:

Leonard P. Flynn, Register
Probate and Family Court Dept.
2 Main St.
Worcester, Mass.
01608

It helps to include the case number, which can be
found in
the index to probate records for Worcester County:
"Index to the Probate Records of the County of
Worcester,
Masachusetts, From July 12, 1731 to July 1, 1881,
Series A",
Published by Oliver B. Wood, Worcester, MA, 1898.
If you don't have the case number, then give the name,
year the case was filed, and place of residence.
Ancestry.com
has the index online, so you can use that to see if the
record you are looking for exists, but, they don't give
the case number.
