Rev. John Prentice in 1708 signed the Covenant and added beneath it the names
Thomas Wilder, John Houghton, Joseph Whetcomb, John Wilder, Jeremiah Willson,

Rugg and Jonathan Moor. These eight may have been the only male members of
the church at that date.

There are also subscribed, not always in their own handwriting, the names of
29 men admitted to membership from time to time, less than one-fourth the
number of males
accepted as communicants during the pastorate of Mr. Prentice. These were,
