#10 John Arthur Kennedy
2nd class Gunners mate was born August 30, 1896 to John H. and Cynthia
A. Kennedy. He was educated in the public schools of Lynn, MA.
On Oct. 12, 1912 he enlisted in the Navy and served on the USS
Virginia during the Mexican War, also as a chief pettyofficer the night
the German ships were captured in Boston Harbor.
His parents received his Mexican campaign badge from Washington,
together with his French War Certiicate.
He died Oct. 29, 1917 from injuries resulting from an accident.
