(5) Daniel TENNEY, son of Daniel TENNEY (4) was born in Bradford,
Mass., March 16, 1734. He married, June 25, 1761, to Joanna CHENEY. They
settled in Bradford. Their children were:
1) Daniel, April 4, 1762
2) Eldad, April 20, 1764
3) Rhoda, Aug. 25, 1766
4) Moses, April 16, 1769
5) Thomas, Sept. 21, 1771
6) Aaron, July 11, 1774
7) Joanna, March 8, 1776
8) Paul, Sept. 12 or 24, 1781; M.D., was graduated at Dartmouth College
in 1803 with A.M. degree; married Aug. 12, 1804 to Anna HOYT, daughter
of Samuel HOYT, of Poplin, NH; resides at Bedford Hills, Milmot, NH and
removed to Williamsbury, Ohio; died Sept. 29, 1844.
(6) Thomas TENNEY, son of Daniel TENNEY (5) was born at Bradford,
Mass., Sept. 21, 1771. He married Hannah LONG, of Hopkinton, NH. He
married (2d) Susan CHENEY. In 1796 he removed to Newport, NH, and
occupied first the Hiall CALL farm; later and for many years he lived on
the place now or formerly of H.F. PIKE. He was a carpenter by trade. He
died at Newport, NH in 1841.
His children were:

4) Susan, June 10, 1807
5) Temperance, July 20, 1808
6) Abijah W., Nov. 25, 1810
7) Isaac C., July 11, 1814
8) Daniel W., Oct. 17, 1816

(7) Abijah W. TENNEY, son of Thomas TENNEY (6) was born in Newport,
NH, on Nov. 25, 1810. He married Aug. 9, 1840 to Hannah Stevens JENKS,
daughter of Capt. Bela W. and Mary (STEVENS) JENKS. She was born Nov.
26, 1816, and died Sept. 12, 1848. He married (2d), June 15, 1849, to
Emily BAKER, daughter of James and Sophia (CHAPIN) BAKER. She was born
April 22, 1823.
He lived at Southville in Newport, NH. He was a man of very genial
nature, yet just to all with whom he dealt, and exacting justice and
honesty in return. Living an earnest, Christian life, trusted and
honored by all who knew him, he exemplified the "Golden Rule" day by
day. He had very strict ideas in regard to temperance and his entire
family was brought up in accordance with them.
In politics he was a staunch Republican. Although very much
interested in town as well as national affairs, and enjoying the esteem
of his fellow townsmen, yet he would never hold any public office as he
disliked heartily the many disputes and controversies in which a man of
public affairs must be cncerned. Besides the farm which he always
carried on, he was for many years engaged at his trade as a millwright.
He was always concidered a very good mechanic and was skilled at various
trades.
The children of Abijah W. and Hannah Stevens (JENKS) TENNEY were:
1) Abijah Wallace TENNEY born Sept. 9, 1841, died Sept. 22, 1844
2) Mary Jenks TENNEY born May 18, 1845; married Thomas Adelbert MONTAGUE
3) Arthur Burton TENNEY born May 22, 1846
4) George Hubbard TENNEY born July 26, 1848, died Dec. 11, 1866
