JANE LUCE BRIDE OF R. S. RUSSELL IN CENTRAL CHURCH

The marriage of Miss Jane Frances Luce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford H.
Luce of 59 Granville Avenue to Richard Sleeper Russell, son of Mrs. Raymond F.
Russell of 34 Otsego Road, and the late Mr. Russell was today in Central
Congregational church.
Rev. Dr. Harold G. Jones, Minister of the church, performed the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Luce gave a reception in Edgewood House, North Grafton.
Miss Ruth M. Howard was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the misses Madelon
Pennicke of Greenwich, Conn., formerly of Worcester, and Patricia Youngman of
Montclair, N.J. The three attendants were classmates of the bride at Colby
Junior College.
Frank Sleeper Russell, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were
Richard W. Schneider, Ross A. Merigold and Courtland Cross.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin in
off-the-shoulder effect with a yoke of silk net and long, close-fitting sleeves.
The full, bustle-back skirt flared into a long trim. Her fingertip length veil
of illusion was attached to a coronet of orange blossoms, white orchids and
stephanotis were combined in her bouquet.
The maid of honor wore a gown of orchid satin, styled with a fitted bodice
and a bouffant skirt. Her gauntlets were of matching satin. she carried a
bouquet of yellow gladioli to match her halo. The Bridesmaids wore gowns of Nile
green satin, duplicates of the model worn by the maid of honor, and matching
mitts. Their halos were fashioned of orchid gladioli and they carried cascade
bouquets of the same flowers.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell will make their home in Worcester after a motor trip to
the Laurentian Mountains, Canada. Going away the bride wore a suit of dark
blue gabardine with a blue feather trimmed hat, a dusty rose wool coat and blue
accessories.
The bride was graduated from North High School and Colby Junior College. She
is a member of Colby Junior College club and Sigma Eta Phi Sorority Alumnae
Association. Mr. Russell was graduated from Worcester Academy and last June from
Dartmouth College. Phi Delta Theta.
