Hi Jeannine-
The post-1881 probate records have recently been transferred to the East Brookfield Courthouse. You can contact Mike Haire, Western Worcester District Trials Court Records Center, 544 East Main St., East Brookfield, MA 01515.
I checked on the members-only section of NEHGS's web site. They have the probate index for Worcester Co. The only Patrick Burns that shows up is a Patrick H. Burns as a conservator in 1903, residing in Clinton, case #32364. Then I checked the Middlesex Co. Probate index. It shows a Patrick Burns having a will probated in 1869, residing in Charlestown, case #28687. The index does not show a will for Patrick around 1887, but you sound as if you know for sure there is one. So I would check with Mike. If he can't send you a copy, let me know and I'll pick it up the next time I'm there, although it may be a while.
Sandy

> Is there anyone on this list living in Worcester that would obtain a copy of an old probate record for me at the County Courthouse. I need a copy of the probate record of Patrick Burns who died March 7, 1887 in Uxbridge. His daughter, Bridget Burns, was the administrator of the estate. The obit stated there was a son, unnamed. It may be the son remained in Ireland when the family emigrated as I have never found him in America. I am still searching for the town of birth.
