GARDNER -- Reginald W. Wood, 80, of 36 Warwick Road, a retired plant
manager, died Monday, Sept. 11, in UMass Memorial Medical Center --
University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Martha (Puustinen) Wood; two
daughters, Nancy Wood of Somerville and Cynthia Wood of Poulsbo,
Wash.; a brother, James L. Wood of Rutland; five grandchildren; and
two nephews. He was born in Cornwall, England, son of Norman and Laura
(Olds) Wood, and lived most of his life in Gardner. He graduated from
Gardner High School in 1937. He was an Army veteran of World War II,
serving in Europe.

Mr. Wood was the last surviving retiree of the former Arthur Stone
Silver Co., later known as Stone Associates, of Gardner. He later was
foreman in the aircraft division of the former Florence Oil Stove Co.,
worked at Raytheon Corp. and was foreman of Barre Controls in
Watertown. He then worked in design and development at Bee Plastics
and Mi-Lor, both of Leominster, and Plaza Plastics of South
Plainfield, N.J. He retired as plant manager at Regent Tool Co.,
Leominster. He was a member of Post 905 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The funeral service will be private. Burial will be in Green Bower
Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the Gardner Museum Silversmith Shop, 28
Pearl St., Gardner, MA 01440; or to any charity. Smith Funeral Home,
69 Vernon St., is directing arrangements.
