I have been using RootsMagic since it came out and always upgrade when Bruce
comes out with a new version. I used his Family Origins before that.
RootsMagic also has a user list where there are many helpful people.

RootsMagic can import gedcoms without messing them up. I have pulled in
gedcoms from PAF and FTM with no trouble. I don't know about pictures, but
Bruce's FAQ should cover that.
