According to the "History of Worcester County, Mass., with biographical
sketches of many of its Pioneers and Prominent Men", Vol. 1, page 362
Samuel SLATER, the founder of Webster, was born in the town of Belper,
Derbyshire, England on 9 June 1768.
He later had sons, George B. Slater and Horatio Nelson Slater.
Mr. Slater died in Webster, 20 April 1835.
He married, 2 October 1791, Hannah, daughter of Oziel WILKINSON, who
died in 1812. He next married, about 1817, Esther, daughter of Robert
PARKINSON, of Philadelphia.
His children by 1st wife:

It also says that his property and interests lay for the most part
within a territory made up of a part of Dudley, a part of Oxford and
what was called Oxford South Gore, which was a tract of land included in
no incorporated town. There were 1168 inhabitants living on this
territory.

The remainder of this writing goes on into detail of various other legal
dealings with the General Court with different land boundaries and
settements, with many votings.
