May I recommend Google Books again? You can search on Google Books for
"vital records" and the name of the town and state (Massachusetts) and
many of the published vital records come up. Most are completely
accessible by downloading and then scrolling through the pages. You can
print from a book once you have downloaded it, but not all books are
"viewable." Some provide only "snippets," but that at least will show
you what titles to look for through your library, etc.

Carol:
In the time frame you mention there wouldn't be a birth certificate.
The best you could do would be a transcription of church and Town Vital
records. Usually such events would be recorded in the MA Town clerk's
office. A majority of records have been compiled into a series of MA
Vital records to 1850 available in various places. Try RaysPlace.com etc
for FREE transcriptions. Not all towns available in all places. Since
you have tried The Edmund Rice Assoc. I will use your outline to look
for the connections in the Vital Records to confirm your research.
