Good Morning from rainy Albuquerque:

Jean - I went a step further and discovered that you may have found the
erroneous information on www.Ancestry.com. Because of this, and knowing
where Leominster is, I went to the Lancaster, MA vital records at
Ancestry.com and found that the Samuel Strain as you state is Samuel Sterns
(which can be Starnes, Stearns, etc) b. June ye 4:1745 son of Timothy and
Dinah Sterns. This is found in Book 1 pg 71 of the following:
The birth, marriage, and death register, church records and epitaphs of
Lancaster, Massachusetts : 1643-1850.

Whoever posted that information at Ancestry.com failed to do his/her
homework. On page 293 Samuel Stearns was bp 09 Jun 1745, son of Timothy
Stearns. The father a member of a Church in Reading, the mother a member of
a Church in Wilmington.

I did not find the name as Strain.
