Sue:
All Maxwell males carry the Y chromosome in your line, that's used in
following DNA. If an outside male marries a Maxwell female the new Y
chromosome now is their new line, like a Wilson male married a Maxwell
female the Y chromosome in the Wilson males belong to his new line. It
is passed down from generation to generation for over 50 years without
change in each direct male. Only your direct Maxwell's will match other
direct Maxwell's in your line. It's very confusing to explain. Sons from
the Wilson/Maxwell line would not match your brother if he were a
Maxwell.

Thanks,
Larry W. Maxwell
