I now have some additional information on the George Soule MFIPs. Research
is, indeed, continuing and it is anticipated that the 5th/6th generation of
his descendants will take a total of 6 parts to complete. (We now have the 4
generation MFIP, plus parts 1 and 2 covering some of the 5th generation.)
Efforts are being made to even include some 7th generation material in the
new MFIPs, when it can be located.
Information on descendants of Patience [2] (Soule) Haskell is scheduled for
Part 6 of the series. In the meantime, continue to use the original Soule
publication, Volume 3 of "Mayflower Families," Publ. 1980, ALONG WITH the
available MFIPs and other references for your research, unless advised
otherwise by your Mayflower Society State Historian.
Surnames appearing in "MF3" for the 5th generation from Patience Soule
include (listed in order of first appearance in the MF3 book, some names are
repeated later): WHITMORE, HASKELL, CORY, DRINKWATER, MAXFIELD, CLARK,
FREEMAN, BERRY, COBB, WINSLOW and PAINE.
Please, don't everyone contact me at once BUT, if you think that you have
pertinent PRIMARY SOURCE documentation or Family Bible records for anyone in
the Soule 5th/6th generations, especially for any descendants who left the
New England area and are not easily found, you can share it with the Prime
Researcher, if you wish to do so. Contact me directly and I will assist in
getting it to the correct place/person for evaluation and possible inclusion
in the Volume. It is a huge project to complete the Soule family for just
these early generations and any help would be appreciated.
