Re: SAFFORD

Greetings, All:

An individual on the list posted an inquiry regarding the surname of
SAFFORD.
I do not know if this name appears in an early generation of a Brewster line.
However, the Safford surname does appear to intersect in generation 7 in my
own family tree.

My line (attached below), briefly illustrates this connection.
I imagine that a good portion of my line is as yet unproven -- therefore, I
would sincerely appreciate guidance in any form.

Would anyone know how much of this Brewster line has been proven -- and,
how I would go about obtaining documentation of this?
I would also greatly appreciate any suggestions that could be made regarding
avenues to pursue in my efforts to prove this Brewster line.

Regarding the SAFFORD surname, it's my understanding that the parents of
Anna Scott (i.e., generation 7) -- are:
Jonathan Scott (b. 28 JAN 1737, Sunderland, Franklin, MA), and
ABIGAIL SAFFORD, (b. 14 Aug 1739, Bennington, Vermont).

I thank you in advance for any information or suggestions.

Take care, and
May God bless you and those you love...

Most sincerely,

Cathy PORTER-Maynard

***Dear Mayflower Enthusiasts:
***
***Is anyone knowledgeable of the surname SAFFORD which (I am told)
***is found in the first 3 generations of the William Brewster line?

I am not knowledgeable about this or a great many other things, but I do
find that there are several Saffords listed in Susan Roser's _Mayflower
Marriages_ in a Brewster line.  They are fairly late, the ones I looked at
being late 1700s.  The Brewster MFIP (first 4 generations) does not list
Safford in the index unless I somehow missed it.  I found only one Safford
on my S&R Plymouth County VR CD.  Can you give us specific names and some
idea as to dates and places?
