This is a follow up to my own question.
After reviewing Abstracts of Barnstable County, Mass. Probate Records for
John Hadaway/Hathaway and reading "Hathaways of America" 1970 Edition;
compiled and edited by Elizabeth Starr Versailles and its supplement to
the 1970 edition "Hathaways 1200-1980" 1980 edition, I have come away
that the Hathaway Family Association does not have verifiable truth to
note that Hannah, born May 1662 to the family of John Hadaway and Hannah
Hallett did marry John Crow/Crowell. This has left many questions
unanswered? I was hoping that I will find answers not questions.
After reading the "Hathaway of America" book and supplement which are
sponsored by the "Association," I am finding very little information on
Hannah. They did not mentioned her being married! On page 908 of the
former, she is listed only by her birth date. This information also comes
from the vital records of the area. From the supplement, on page 353,
that "data on pages 907 and 908 of second generation, Capt. Hadaway adds
that Hannah2 d. after 3 Aug. 1689; that Gideon d. after 1753; the
youngest two being daughters and one named Sarah." And from the
Mayflower Descendant, Vol XXXI, Abstracts of Barnstable County, Mass.,
Probate Records on page 186 it reads, (paraphrasing) In his will, dated 3
August 1689, John mentions his (2nd) wife Elizabeth, as "sole executrix;"
sons Thomas, John, Gideon and Edward their shares or lack of and to "my
Daughters by a former wife what they had already" and "I leave with my
wife to bestow on her two Daughters according to her ability." Again the
supplement does us no favors and mentions anymore than what is already
known. The will already noted her existence (in a way). The supplement
does state that John had 4 children with his first wife and four from his
second. Hannah (Hallett)died early and John marry (2) 1 May 1672,
Elizabeth Coleman, a women 35 years younger than her husband. After
reading the information, I am left in the dark even more.
We are left with the knowledge that Hannah Hallett born 5 children to
John before she passed away early in the marriage. We know that a son
died ten days after his birth; John b. 16 Aug. 1658; Hannah, May 1662 and
Edward, 10 Feb. 1663/64. From the father's will a daughter was born and
was living by 3 Aug.1689.
After the second marriage, the order of the children are unknown. There
is mentioned in the father's will, Thomas, Gideon, and the supplement
mentioned Sarah and the again supplement does mentioned a probable
Martha? This author has only read the Abstract. Whether the actual will
mentions the husbands of the two older daughters or the probate records
do that is unknown. (I doubt that it does, since that would prove the
answers to the question that was posed by many historians.) Hannah, the
daughter, would have reached the age of 27, the other unnamed daughter
should have been close to the age of majority by the time her father
wrote his will. If Hannah was to married John Crow/Crowell, it was about
1680/81, since the first child of the possible marriage was Elizabeth b.
August 03, 1682. If there was a probate, John Crow/Crowell would have to
acknowledge his wife's lack of inheritance and sign her or his rights
away.
I am re asking my question listed below and hoping that anyone near
Boston is able to look up the will and probate records for John Hadaway,
as well as John Buck. Maybe there is an elusive answer out there to be
solve.

Earlier Question
There is a passage from "John Howland of the Mayflower," White, Vol #1
3rd printing Oct 1999 (Addition & Correction) p 734 1:195, line 27 that
has caught my eye. It states "Edmund Hatch married in Rochester, Mass.,
30 August 1725 Reliance Crowell, who was born in Yarmouth, 2 January
1699, the daughter of John and Hannah (Buck) Crowell. [Rochester VR
1:131.}"
Please note that besides the name Buck being mentioned, I have access
Rochester VR up to 1849 and also 1850 on the Internet via paid for
service (GeneaolgyLibrary.com) and "look up" via a hard copy book thru
another Rootsweb list members and we have yet to find this reference for
the marriage, as well as any reference to the mother's maiden surname of
Buck.
Can someone help me in clarifying this source (or non source) on the name
as well as the marriage date?
(I have sent in corrections to the Society and to the authors, myself.)
I have research and communicated directly with the author, the general
historian and other members on the subject and they seem not to know the
answer. What is known is that Hannah did not list a maiden name in the
records. There is belief that when John Buck wrote his will, he provided
to "all my grandchildren living in Yarmouth." What children of his were
living in Yarmouth at the time of his writing of his will is not
mentioned anywhere I can get my hands on. Some historians think Hannah
was a Hathaway! Such dilemmas!
