Tina, I think a lot of us would feel that Eugene Aubrey Stratton
_Plymouth Colony: Its History and People 1620-1691_, which is available
in various places, isn't very expensive, is often on sale, and probably
is easily found at least through interlibrary loan, would be an
excellent starting place. It combines the history of the colony through
the years of its independent existence with genealogical information
about many of the settlers. It gives an overview and is a good
foundation for further reading, and is highly regarded for accuracy and
a comfortable writing style.
