This Thomas is probably a son of John & Jean Lytle McCracken, b. MD, 26 Feb
1778. Family moved to Rowan Co., NC, Williamson Co, TN. Polk Co., MO.
Thomas O. McCracken in his the Robert McCRACKEN FAMILY OF SCOTLAND
says of him: "In about 1805 brother Thomas married Elizabeth Holmes in
Williamson Co., TN. According to the family history ofW TJ McCracken, a
direct descendant of Thomas , Elizabeth was born Oct 22, 1788 and was the
dau of Robert Holmes, a native of Ireland." etc etc Rev war activity of
Holmes., etc. &
"Thomas is described by his grandson as a "large man, six feet two inches
tall, had large blue eyes and a pleasant face." etc etc. &
"Brother Thomas had moved to Polk Co., Missouri in 1842 following several of
his children. He died at the age of 81 in 1959 and is buried in Tillery
Cemetery in Hickory County, Missouri with his wife, Elizabeth. Thomas had
13 children including 11 sons and left a large number of descendants."
