---------------
Does anyone know who these men are? I am especially curious about Ransom.
My great grandfather, Zacheus S. McElroy [Muckleroy, etc.] was murdered by
one Christopher L. Davis in 1845 & along with the then Governor of
Mississippi, a R. McElroy joined in to offer a $250.00 reward. They were
living in Lauderdale at the time of the murder [it is assumed that Zacheus
was].
And many moons ago, I found a Ransom L. McElroy registered with the Cherokee
Indians. I have to re-locate that source for I was a beginner and possibly
failed to note the source apparently. Has anyone else ever come across this
information? As I recall it was in some Mississippi tax records.
