McKAY, JOSEPH W., private in Capt. James J. Stener's Co., of Col. Wm.
Warren's Regt., N.Y. militia, served from Aug. 16, 1814 to desertion
Sept. 11, 1814, Top half of stone is broken, grave located to the right
of wife, Rachel.

====================

I've been to this site before but I've never seen anything about his
desertion! I know I have printed the page so IF I can find where I
filed it, I'll know it is new and that I haven't overlooked it before.

I believe I got pension records way back in the 1970's from the National
Archives on James WASHBURN who fought in the War of 1812. Is guess
that's still where I would begin to inquire about Joseph McKAY's
service...? Thanks!

Later...Nancy
