Dear McKee Family List,
I wanted to pass on this web-site... Julie has done SO much work! I found
a McKee listed in the Infirmary.
> Hello all! I'm not transcribing this week on the Athens County Infirmary
> because the laptop I'd borrowed from my girlfriend, had to be temporarily
> returned. I'll be back to transcribing next week.
> In the mean time, I've started that addition to the Transcription
> called "Understanding the Athens County Infirmary Register & Terminology."
> The page can be accesses from the same page you use to view the indexes
> registers: > http://oorg.bizland.com/athenscounty.htm
> I've received tons of email form persons wishing to know HOW their
> ancestors ended up in the Infirmary...on WHO's authority, etc. I've tried
> address that on the page mentioned above. I'd also be very open to anyone
> has information about the Infirmary or how it operated. Every little piece
> helps in the understanding of the entries!
> I wanted you all to know that the help page was on-line, as well as
> remind you that the assessments I've made are based on the knowledge I've
> gained from transcribing hundreds of these entries, and so far, a small
> amount of research. The terminology came from Merriam-Webster dictionary.
> With most medical terms found in the entries, I've tried to add the
> definition in ( ) behind the term within the entry.
> ALSO- Many of you write to me telling me about how an entry has, or
> be, bearking a brick wall for you. I LOVE that! Thanks so much for sharing
> those stories with me! The knowledge that this work is helping you all is
> what fuels the fire for the hours of transcibing! Thanks!! Julie North
