Tom,
If you sent your GedCom file, as an attachment, to the McKee list, those who
are interested could open it and see if there is a connection to your
family.
I HAVE A Matilda McKee in my line. Tell me more about her?
Barb C

Hello Carolyn:
This is in reply to the query you posted Oct 11, 2004 about the parents of
Birge McKee. I believe they were David McKee and Cornelia neCB) Cannon, who
married in Athens co, Ohio March 20, 1864. Birge appears with them in the
1880 census at New Straightsville coal township, Perry co as 12 yo "Burges",
but the name Birge clearly comes from Cornelia's mother's name Lydia Marion
BIRGE. I am really hoping that because 3 years have passed since your query
you now know all of this and can now tell me who David's parents were. I've
been working on that question for the last 3 months and was just about to
post a query in Rootsweb. I guess I'll do that anyway, but I hope you get
this message and can get back to me.
Other children shown with David and Cornelia in the 1880 census are Minnie
14, William 10, Harriet 8, Hattie 6, Reese 3, Hadannie(?) 1.
They must have kept busy having children because in the 1900 census - also
at Salt Lick township, the same as Birge - more children are listed: Mamie
20, Alice 18, William (again) 16, Nettie 15, Pearl 10, Gracie 8.
I am doing this research for the family of my late brother in law, Elmer
Reese McKee, who was the grandson of the Reese McKee above.
Elmer, known as Jack, was a US marine fighting in the Pacific during WWII
when he met my wife's sister here in Melbourne, Australia. If you are
interested in making contact with this family I can give you Jack's
daughter's email. I can also send a gedcom of what we have, if you like, or
a FTM genealogy report in 'word' format. I would welcome any further
information you have on Birge's descendants.
Best wishes,
Tom Cook
