As you can see, David McKee b. 1710 & Margaret ? are claimed, with their children, by two families. David, son of Wm and Marion Brown, Ireland, who went to Kerrs ?, Ky, & David, son of John & Ester Hawthorne, also Ireland. Can't both be right. I have the children's names of Ester, but only David and Alex. came to US. while all Marions were all in U.S. Does anyone know with some certainty, where these families first settled before coming to W. Pa.? Or where Margaret, wife of David, was born, mard.? I can't find my maps to see where Dauphin Co. is in relation to Westmorland & Allegheny in 176? ROBERT, wife Susanne, died in 1782, before the 1795 will, but his sons are named; David & Robert. He also had two girls, Mary, md. Hugh Torrence and Elizabeth, b. 1771, md. Samuel Sinclair Jr. DAVID, b. 1750, was Capt. in Revol., mar. Margaret Cunningham. All children in old Davids Will, David, 9,; James Sarah & John. JAMES "my son, executor" not on some lists; mard. Jean Cunningham. MARY;md. John Peebles (Peoples). My own SAMUEL is not mentioned, tho he is thought by some to have been born at the time of the move to McK ferry, and omitted. More likely he is the son of another early David. He was an indian fighter on the Westmorland frontier, and was either killed there or in the Revol., leaving 6 minor children. Any input you could give me would be appreciated.
