This is very interesting... my great grandfather, also William James McKee, was born in Canada in 1857. He married Elizabeth Pannell (born in Novi, MI 1858) in Detroit, MI. They had three children Wm.J. McKee, Jr. (my grandfather)1888, Henry George 1890, Anna E. 1886. In 1900 they lived on Maybury Ave., Detroit 12th Ward. I have more info on him. Could there be a connection with your William James McKee and father, John?
