I don't know of any McVeys that moved to Texas, but my
greatgrandfather, Charles Fleck married John McVey's daughter, Maude. They moved to Tyler, Tex at some point and we have lived in Texas since then. (Houston and Dallas areas) My father was born on the King Ranch.
