Kia ora. My Grandmother was Lavinia McVey. She was born in Glasgow and her father was Henry Mcvey, (2) and was married to Elizabeth Buchanan. Henry's father was also Henry McVey, (1), married to Lavinia Flannigan and they were farmers in Rathlin Island. Henry McVey(2)'s brother, William James and two sisters, Sarah Ellen, immigrated to Dunedin New Zealand about 1882 along with their brother John who returned to Scotland to marry. My Grandparents and all her children and grandchildren immigrated to NZ in 1959-1960. I would love to find the NZ relations and also try to go back further. We hope to attend the Macleans' reunion on the Isle of Mull this June.
