I cooked our last soft-shelled crabs for the season the other night and thought about the fact that when I lived in Baltimore we just called them "soft crabs". Was that just my family or was it typical of Baltimore and/or Maryland?
Do they still have oyster roasts? My husband said they were often (usually?) stag. Why? And did they really roast oysters?
