For those who missed it or don't have access to the Baltimore Sun, there was an interesting article in last Sunday's paper called "The gangs of Baltimore," which described the political life, crime and discrimination experienced by immigrants in the 1850's in Baltimore. Not too different from those in the movie "Gangs of New York."

It was in the paper on June 29, and I believe they only make it available free for two weeks, so you should probably check it out before July 13.
