I'm trying to track down records for some of my ancestors living in Baltimore in the mid-1850s. Coming from Germany, they can first be found in Baltimore census of 1860 and the census indicates "Lauraville". I can find that on a map of the city (I think), but what I'd really like to know is what Catholic church would they have likely attended so that i can try to find church records. Was there a German community and a predominantly German church in that neighborhood in the mid-1800s? Thanks for any thoughts. John
