Hello Listers,
I have a mystery on my hands, that I hope someone can help me solve. I'm
doing some research for a gentleman in Germany, who is not familiar with our
English speaking genealogy lists. He had an ancestor come to America in 1865
and was never heard from again.

His name was Johan Caspar Vinzenz HOLTHAUS, born 1840 in Dinklage,
emigrated 1865 on the ship, NORMA, Bremen to Baltimore; arriving in Baltimore
May 6, 1865.
I've checked ancestry.com but as many of you probably know, their
1870 index is incomplete.
Would anyone have a complete 1870 index for Maryland and check to see if
Johan is in Maryland in 1870?

I don't know if he would use the name John or Johan, or Caspar or Vincent.
He would be 30 years old by 1870.

I would be very grateful for any help anyone can give me on this mystery.
