Please look up Joseph Simms, born around 1790-1800. Family history says that
he was a slave in Upper Marlboro, MD. He bought his freedom and moved his
family to DC. He and family are enumerated in the 1840 Census for DC.

Can you also look up the SIMMS, 1820 Slave schedule.
