I am interested in finding out if Stephen JOHNSON returned to the US to fight with other African Americans in the War.
The only info I have on Stephen is that his "place of birth" is listed on his sons death cert. as Maryland USA. Since I cannot find him on Canadian census's of this time I thought he may have returned "home" to fight in the war.
Stephen was married to a woman known only as Mary or Charlotte.
any info would be greatly appreciated
