When you have time, would you see if you have anything on the parents of
John Leonard Bowers/Bauer born in the fall of 1760 in Hagerstown, Md. He
enlisted in the Revolutionary War in 1776 in Maryland and after the war
moved to Carter County, Tenn, and married a Rebecca Nave there.

I am trying to find the parents of John Leonard, and am at a dead end.
Several people have indicated that George Bowers and Christina ? are his
parents, but no one can come up with any concrete proof of that, so far it
is just speculation on everyone's part as far as I can tell, from the people
I have corresponded with.

There is no hurry for this information if you find it, as I am leaving for a
three week trip west, but if you come across the parents or siblings of John
Leonard in any of your searching and lookups, I would appreciate the
information and if you need a SASE and photocopy costs, please let me know
and I will remit upon my return home.

Thank you so much for your lookups, not only in my behalf, but for all that
you do for others out there. I know what you mean about having a life other
than the lookups. I have been swamped for quite some time for information
from our local area and I don't mind helping people either, but it has to be
on my time frame, so I don't expect you to drop everything to do any looking
for me either. I sincerely appreciate any help you can provide.
