Found this listing for William Stansbury in the book This was the Life
Excerpts from the Judgement Recors of Fredrick County, Maryland 1748-1765
Vinsill Barlange petitions the Court "that your petitioner being a German
born came into this Province in the 1740 a servant for five years, which
time I truly served William Stansbury of Baltimore County and afterwards in
the year 1748 in pursuit of labouring business which ever has been what I
profest I came to Anteatum in this County...never been troublesome to any
person in the neighborhood as all my acquaintances can testify as also that
I have paid my part of the County's levis yearly. But, Gentlemen, it hath
pleased God in my old age to afflict me with heavy disease and to deprive me
of my eyesight. I am decrepit and blind and unable to support life any
longer without some help. He asks for assistance, which the court rejects.
