Dear Pepper:
Wish I were close enough to attend this free lecture...but St. Charles,
MO is not just around the corner from you unfortunately!!! ;-)
If you have the time to respond I do need some information regarding my
WILSON ancestors who left Cecil Co. Maryland migrating to Mecklenburg
N.C. My Gt. Grandfather, James Wilson, was b. in Mecklenburg, 1779. I
believe that his parents and their parents were among those early
migrants from Cecil Co. to N.C.
Do you or some organization have access to the names of those Wilson(s)
who traveled from Cecil Co. MD (Forks of the Elk) along the Sequeshanna
River all the way to Mecklenburg, N.C? All I have are the surnames
(listed in the book) "The Lost Tribes of North Carolina" part 3 "The
Mecklenburg Signers and Their Neighbors"... written by Worth S. Ray.
I believe that Gt. Grandfather James Wilson was most likely the son of
James Wilson and Isabella Smith Wilson (md. 28 Sept. 1809 in Mecklenburg,
N.C.) BUT...what was the name of that James Wilson's father?????
WILSON and SMITH are listed among those leaving/traveling from Cecil Co.
but there are no given names for these people.
Can anyone help me please????
