Clements and Wright's "Maryland Militia in the Revolutionary War" lists John
Shekells as "2nd do." in the 7th Company, Lower Battalion of Montgomery
County. Others are listed with rank of 2nd do., 3rd do., and 4th do. Can
someone tell me the rank do which "do." refers? Many thanks.
