You could check Pr. Geo. & Montgomery Co., MD, records for mention of Benjamin. Probate papers are mentioned in "Index to Wills, Adm., & Inv/o Pr. Geo. Co., to 1900," for Ann, Edward, Elizabeth, Fielder, George, Henry, I. Alfred, John, Mary C., Sarah R., Thomas, Warren, Wm. A., & Wm. H. GRIMES. These can be any kind of probate papers. There are no details in the book, which means heirs could be mentioned in the actual papers.

I have "Abstracts of Wills of Montg. Co., MD, 1776 - 1825," and there's no Benj. GRIMES mentioned there, (only GRIMES mentioned is a witness, Jane, for a ship captain of London). Heirs are listed in this book, so probate of Montg. Co., MD, probably won't help you. Census, land, and church records might help.
