I was born in Lansdowne,MD maybe 2-3 miles from where St. Mary's Industrial School was at. The only remaining building is at the corner of Caton& Wilkens Ave in West Baltimore. There is now a Catholic High School just down the Street, so the land is still owned by the Catholic Church. Its an Old Gray Stone building, you can't miss it, surprisingly, there is really no reference to Babe Ruth at the site, maybe given that it is owned by the church, and they frown on personal references. This area is maybe, 4-5 miles from Emory St. and Camden Yards. His father owned a bar, which its remains were found in shallow left center of the playing field. If you hit a foul ball out of the park, down the left field line maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile you would hit Babe's Birth house. 216 Emory St. Basically the whole block is now a museum. Finding any real relations to Ruth is very hard, I did get a current list of Related families from the Museum when I visited, but Babe had two adopted Daugh!
ters and I would guess many are non-related adopted families. Hope this helps your research. I do have some info on family plots at Louden Park and census info.
