My great great grandfather, JAMES W. EASTWOOD, was a Pvt. in the Ohio Cavalry Volunteers. According to the discharge papers dated July 4, 1865, he was born in Marchantes County, Maryland. He was 38 years old at that time. This would mean he was born in 1827. However, I have been unable to find any such county. I am seeking information about his ancestors, but I have hit a roadblock since I have been unable to find this place. If anyone has any information about this county or place, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
