Thanks for the info. I had found this Wm F Perry, but no relation to mine. Actually, mine was listed as single in 1870, but in Columbus, GA. Though I know he married that year (obviously after census time) to Mittie (Mattie) Bussey also of Columbus, GA. I do know he was born in MD about 1838, but have no idea if he left MD on his own as an adult or left with family as a child to LA and eventually GA. He did serve in the Civil War in an LA regiment.
