Pat, On the subject of your Parkers. With the help of Charles
Cumberland Times excerpts I have been able to make a connection between
Ray's family and the Parker family. Josiah Parker married Eliza Baker
from Mt Savage. She was the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth (Betsy)
Simmons Baker and the sister of Louis and Arthur Baker. Arthur Baker
married Elizabeth Thomas also from Mt Savage. Her parents wereThomas N.
Thomas and sarah. his parents David and Hester Thomas. (Does anyone know
anything more about this Thomas family?)
Arthur's daughter Effie married Joseph Benjamin Thomas. Her sister Ida
married Frank Munn and sister Lily married Edward L. Betz. Edward and
Lily Betz lived at 128 E Main, Almost across from where Shupes would
have been.
This is the house where Ray, Bill and Marjorie lived with Martha and Kear
Hosken. I loved sitting on the front steps or porch of that house and
talking to all the people who walked up and down the street. Frostburg
was such a fun place to be a teenager during the 40's. I consider myself
very lucky to have had those years. Pat thomas
