As a relatively newly arrived senior citizen to the Allegany County, MD, scene, I feel befuddled when trying to decode the e-mail messages about the 1880 census. Where may I buy a copy? What form is it in ? How much does it cost? What is the seller's name and address? How long will it be between order and delivery? Who may answer these questions?

I am an ancestor hunter looking for the parents of Benedict D. Johnson (wife is Catharine Mullen of Charles; they married in 1843 in Frederick County, MD.) There is a nexus to the Johnson Family Cemetery,off Hawbottom Road, in Frederick County, MD. There are also connections to Zack Johnson of Cumberland, MD, who is a native of Frederick County. All of this stated to serve as an introduction to who I am and my purpose here in Allegany County, MD.
